Here is a transcript of a tape recording of Harley SwiftDeer. He was interviewed by Chris Morton and Ceri Louise Thomas, the authors of the book The Mystery of the Crystal Skulls. Harley Swiftdear has a dodgy reputation and is called a “Plastic Shaman” and “New Age Fraud” by many Native Americans. There’s a lot of controversy about him but nevertheless I think this information is interesting to share with you. As with all information, please use your own discernment.

“I am the heyoehkah or war chief of the Twisted Hairs Society’s council of elders. That’s who I am speaking for as a Twisted Hairs and as a member of your council of elders.

I’d like now to tell you the story of the legend of the crystal skulls, that we call “The Singing Skulls” and of The Ark of Osiriaconwiya. The legend starts in the way of the Twisted Hairs, for they are the story tellers. The Twisted Hairs include members of over 400 different tribes that represent all of North, South, and Central America.

These were, and are, men and women that would travel all the way from the furthest tip of South America all the way up to the furthest reaches of North America to pass on the sacred teachings.

Long ago, North, South, and Central America along with the continents that are now called new Zealand and Australia, were all one land mass, they were all one continent, known to our people as “Turtle Island”.

The elders of the Twisted Hairs say that in the very beginning, there were 12 Worlds with human life. These are planets that revolve around different suns and the elders met on the planet called Osiriaconwiya. This is actually the fourth planet out from the Dog Star, Sirius. It has two suns, and moons, and they met here to discuss the plight of the “planet of the children” –and this is where we are today. This is Grandmother Earth. It is called Eheytoma in our language, but it also represents “the planet of the children” because it is the least evolved of all those planets with human life. So we are really one of a family of 12 planets.

Each of the other planets took the sum total of all knowledge and they encoded this knowledge into what can best be described, in modern terms, as a sort of holographic image computer, called a crystal skull. These are absolutely flawless, perfect crystal skulls. These skulls have moving jaws, just like our skulls so they are referred to as “The Singing Skulls” and the entire configuration was known as “the Ark of Osiriaconwiya”. Each skull represents a different planet’s knowledge. The best way to think of it is, we have computers today that have huge amounts of data stored which can be accessed. All the Crystal Skulls store huge amounts of information, and they can be accessed if you understand how to do so.

Anyway, our cosmic elders took the Ark and encoded all of the knowledge of the 12 worlds with human life, which are called the “Sacred Twelve” Planets or “Grandmothers”, and then they brought them here and they began to work with them and to teach the children of Grandmother Earth. These cosmic elders found a way to be able to move back and forth in their communications with the “Two Leggeds” here on Grandmother Earth.

And this really was a most impressive and valuable gift that was given to the children of this Earth, for it was the gift of Knowledge. It was the greatest gift for it was the root from which all could develop, it was the foundation from which we all could flourish.

And this is what originally happened and there was a period of great advancement. The elders from the other planets educated the children of this Earth, and they gave them what are called “The Teachings of the Sacred Shields”.

The elders found a way to be able to communicate with the people of this Earth from their own planets with the assistance of two great domes, one red and the other blue, that were located beneath the Ocean. And they helped the people of the Earth to build four great civilizations, the civilizations of Lemuria, Mu, Mieyhun, and Atlantis. And they used the knowledge of the skulls to begin the great mystery schools, the arcane wisdom schools, and the secret medicine societies. And they began to disseminate this information.

The information arrived approximately 750,000 years ago and it began to be distributed on Grandmother Earth around 250 -300,000 years ago. To help with the teachings, other skulls were created here on earth, but those life-size skulls, their jaws do not move. There are many more of these skulls and they are known as “The Talking Skulls”, to separate them from “The Singing Skulls” of the major Ark which represents all of the knowledge of all of the twelve worlds as well as our own.

The skulls were kept inside a pyramid inside a formation of tremendous power known as the Ark. the Ark was comprised of the twelve skulls from each of the sacred planets kept in a circle, with a 13 th skull, the largest, placed in the center of this formation. This thirteenth skull represents a collective consciousness of all the worlds. It connects the knowledge of all the sacred planets.

The traveling people that first brought (to the Americas when Atlantis was lost)(italics mine) the Ark of the Sinning Skulls came to be known as the Olmec, and then it migrated up and was taken over in legacy by the Mayans and then by the Aztecs, and now this knowledge today is still held by the Twisted Hairs.

The Aztecs used the power of the skulls to control others, to pervert their own power, and aggrandize themselves. They were becoming so powerful and so destructive a force that they had to be stopped. The only force powerful enough to stop the Aztecs was the Spanish Empire. The Ark was still in it’s place in Teotihuacan when Cortes invaded the Americas.

And the Catholic Pope, at that time insisted, “this knowledge must be gained”. He wanted the skulls more than he wanted the gold and all of the riches of that empire. And although at that time the Ark was hidden underground, the Spanish soldiers came and managed to gain access to it, as a result of a betrayal from within.

But just as the Spanish were about to arrive to seize the Crystal Skulls, all of the Jaguar-Priests and Eagle-Warriors took the skulls and fled with them. Some were taken to the former Mayan Territories, others way down into South America, and others were scattered around the world. And so the skulls were split from one another and separated for the first time in their history here on Grandmother Earth.

The Skulls have to be out there and to roam, to wander away from the other Singing Skulls until such a time as we learn to share with one another, care for one another, teach one another, heal one another and live in world peace and in harmony with Grandmother Earth.

However, as you know, that is not happening anywhere on Grandmother Earth today, so the skulls are still meant to be out there and to roam.

But the legend says that they will return once again back into their family, but only when this family is willing to grow up and mature and join the other family of planets in peace.

This, then, is the Legend as it was told to me by my teacher and her teacher before her since always and in the ways of the Twisted Hairs.

He goes on:

You see, it was extra-terrestrials, as you call them, that first brought the crystal skulls. But we call them “Sky Gods” or “Sky People”. These Sky People first visited the Earth at the end of the Third World of Water. The Third World of Water was a long, long time ago, before continental drift when all of the land mass of the world was one continent known as Turtle Island.

The Sky Gods had been visiting this Earth right form the very beginning, and they have visited several times since. They have often been known as great teachers, and were given names such as Quetzalcoatl in Central America, or Viracocha in South America. They have often come at a time when humanity is struggling, or when we have been living lawless or otherwise impoverished lives. They have come as helpers, as teachers, and as healers, and they have tried to teach humanity how to live in peace. It was these sky gods that helped the Earth people create the wonders of the ancient world. But that is not all that they helped us with. Humanity has been transformed through it’s contact with these beings from the other planets within our own galaxy. They have played a key role in the development of humanity, more key then you have ever imagined.

But what I am about to tell you takes us right back to our source. It takes us right back to our earliest ancestors. I will tell you the real story of our creation as I have heard it from my elders. In the beginning, there was peace on Earth. The people who lived back then were not Homo Sapien, as we know them today. They were like what you call Neanderthals, though we call them “Earth People”. There was a golden age when Earth People and Animals could communicate with each other and lived together harmoniously. There are many legends about this earliest Golden Era all over the world. It is the same in your Old Testament, there is The Garden of Eden.
